Put on your lopapeysa and woolly socks because Borgarnes Film Freaks is back!

Fasten your seat belts and get ready for 29 films from 16 countries, almost all with English subtitles. Yes it is an unthinkably eclectic range of international films & documentaries. Thanks to generous permissions from film makers and SSV this Film Frenzy is free to the public.

This festival will take place between the 24th and 26th of January 2019. Opening at the Settlement Center in Borgarnes and continuing at Óðal. Admission is free and if you donate or give us some social media love, we’ll thank you with popcorn!

Having a film festival in the worst time of the year in a town that doesn’t even have a cinema might sound like a crazy idea, but that is just the Icelandic way. So, whether you’re local or a traveller weird enough to come here in January – let’s bring some warmth into the long dark days of winter with good company, snacks and a celebration of cinema.
